TEHRAN – 15 members of the parliamentary committee to study the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action will be elected by Tuesday. The Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) is the official name for the nuclear deal between Iran and the major powers which was signed in Vienna on July 14.
MP Zarqam Sadeqi told IRNA there are three possibilities for electing people for the committee: The first option is to choose members independently, the second one is a competition between the Principlist Faction and the Followers of Leadership, and the third is presentation of a common list by the two groups.
Currently some MPs from the two factions are busy lobbying to present a common list and if they do not reach a conclusion MPs will seek seats on the committee independently, Sadeqi added.
